Slow at work tonight, happy about that! Can't wait to get the heck out of here. This new job is old school, couple 12 hour days on Tuesday and Wednesday and early am on Saturday. Great pay plan to fund my truck though. Can't and won't complain about that!
Sitting here watching my email, Ovtune said he was going to send out the keys to all of us eagerly awaiting taco lover's!
Will be considering getting up early tomorrow morning and checking to see if the install day has arrived! Yeah for us!!! Go Mat go, take us to the promised tuned land!

I'm sure I'm going to sound like an idiot here. And I'll preface this with I know extremely little about mechanics. But I have a new-ish Ducati Panigale that used to start HARD AF when it was hot / warmed up. It always started good cold, but horrible when it was warm. Dealership told me how to fix it, but said they couldn't do it for liability reasons. They told me to remove the Charcoal Filter. Ever since I removed that Charcoal filter, bike starts amazing, every time, all the time.
I know this truck has a Charcoal Filter. No idea if it has ANYTHING to do with this, just rung a bell in my head.

Possibly dumb question, charcoal filter, is it the little useless box on the side of my air intake tube? Or am I thinking of the resonator? Is the charcoal filter on the fuel somewhere? I know little of newfangled emissions BS.

Acutally, I think it had something to do with fuel...

The principle, on how this works, is that fuel that would have evaporated into the atmosphere that used a vented gas cap, is captured in the Charcoal Canister and either returned to the gas/fuel tank or used by the engine directly from the Charcoal Canister itself. This part of the emissions process.

I bought my tune months ago, but I get back from deployment on August 1st... Which means I should probably just wait to tune until 1.05 comes out? Ugh.... I hate waiting.. But I also don't want to take 2 weeks to get 1.04 going to have 1.05 released. First world problems at their finest lol.

You won't find headers; because, the headers are built into the cylinder head... allows the exhaust gases to be cooled a bit which helps with... something, apparently.

Get 1.04 as soon as you get back! No need to wait - it’s awesome as-is and is only getting better

And thank you for your service!!

I loaded up 91 last night and didn't see a huge difference in the butt dyno from 87. I need to find some hills to hit. It did fly past 75 with ease though, where I find it normally starts to get loud around 70. I think I probably could have pushed it past 80 before peaking. My RPMs at 68mph were less than 1500 on my commute. Definitely like it better, this is where I expect the truck to be, but from the reviews I was expecting a crazy difference.

Definitely not disapointed at all, but I thought it was going to be more explosive from all the reviews.

You must have skipped the part where you disconnect the battery while its flashing. You should have explosive results with the tune :p

That file has nothing to do with the tune at all. Download the file first.

Loaded 1.04 back up as i've been doing a lot of highway lately due to my father in law's passing. He's about 4 hours away and it's pretty hilly for the first hour but then flattens out. Noticing the stock tune is pretty inconsistent in whether it uses 4th or 5th up a hill. Two hills, same grade, same speed, sometimes 4th, sometimes 5th. Annoying to say the least. Mileage at those speeds seems to be anywhere from 19-21 depending on wind and direction.

So going to give the tune a try and see how that does. Keep in mind i'm using cruise set at 70 or 75 with the a/c on. Truck seems to be more willing to downshift of the a/c compressor is on (again annoying). I'd just like the truck to hold 5th more when on a hill at those speeds.

So back to my next trip i need to pick up a uhaul closed trailer about 15 min from his town and load that up and bring it back home. Hopefully the tune helps with this. Looking forward to the refinements with 1.05.

Is the wind any different? I definitely notice wind has an effect on my truck (Florida, no hills)

Sorry to hear about your father in law. Youre going to like the 1.04. On highway I prefer to use the ECT, it's a blast. As for the hills, modulate throttle instead of using cc or it will drive you nuts.

I had my Tacoma for 12 months and 3/4 of that time running 1.03 and 1.04. OV Tune got me to like the Tacoma, but couldn’t see myself happy long term as the Tacoma ended up being to small for my needs. I loved the MPG on 1.04 91 tune, averaged 24-25 MPG for road trips.

However, I traded my Taco for a 2013 LC200 last night. Mat's website list many tuning products under the i0Tech tab. Now that I have a 3UR-FE V8, wondering if any Tacoma friends can point me to Tundra/LC threads working with Mat's other products? I searched but didn't find anything promising.
