Alright, got a little dent in my oil pan. Dunno how exactly as i dont remember hitting anything on any of my previous trips but... Its there.

    What say you experienced fellows?
Anyone dropped their pan and know how close the oil pickup is to the bottom of the pan? I think the oil pickup is right above this circle, so it bugs me. But the dealer wants $590 to replace the pan. I could do it myself for less than $100 but my apartments are not very maintenance friendly lol

Show me pics of your beat up oil pans to make me feel better!

That dent looks like it may have been caused by a floor jack.

As far as i know, no floor jack has been under there. I didnt notice it when i changed my oil a few months ago.

Either way, i think im going to fork out the cash to have the dealer replace it. So if it has any problems with leaks in the future its documented and theyll be responsible for it.

Lotta people say "its minor, its fine, send it"

But it still bugs me, since i believe it to be directly under the pickup.

My pan was dented on my Camry and it bent the pickup. It was still getting enough oil to not set off the alarm until it started knocking. I was out in the middle of the boonies in Arizona with no traffic or cell phone service. I had no choice but drive to the nearest town. Where the engine had to be replaced. I'd have them at least pull the pan and check it.
