I have the rocky mount installed on the front rail. Is a pricey setup for what it is but its excellent.

Just got done installing the Rockymounts this week.

On the thru axle version are you guys able to unscrew the axle while it's mounted?

On the mountain bike I have it as tight as I can and still close. I can unscrew the axle, but not be able to pull it out.

On the Giant road bike I can partly unscrew the axle, but luckily the axle lever hits the bed of the truck. The axle necks down from 12mm to probably 9mm. You can slide the axle out if you got it unscrewed, but it would be a tedious process.

The clamp should be hard to close over the thru axle .I can't turn mine with the mount closed.
