Hi all - I'm in Belmont Hills outside Philadelphia. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a frame weld repair done locally?

I was getting ready to apply Eastwood to the frame today, and when about to take the gas tank shield off, discovered this ... It's about a foot long rust/rot seam that I can push on and obviously has a big hole in it. Thanks for any local recs!

Edit: Also - any thoughts on if I should tackle the rest of the rust (the rest of the frame actually looks pretty good), or wait to get this addressed first? Any problems driving it with this hole and with the skid plates off (just city driving for now, certainly not off-roading!)?

That is a bit worse! Good to know I can still DD it as my motorcycle is in pieces in the garage right now so the truck's my only motorized transport, thanks! I'm happy to drive a ways to get to a good place - especially if there's any mountain biking or swimming holes in the area. So, if you have a recommendation over in New Tripoli, please share :)

The rest of the frame has rust showing, especially on the back end and some of the welds at the front, but it doesn't look terrible. The truck passed inspection two months ago, too. I was hoping I'd be able to address it all with internal coating and converter/encapsulator until I came across that gash. Truck was originally a California one, so I was hoping I would have avoided these issues.

That is the most common spot on a first gen to rust. Google search for frame patch, someone makes patch panels. I am not familiar with New Tripoli to recommend a welder. @Explor John do you know of any welders up that way?

Thanks for the product recommendation, @loosnut ! I'm actually in Bala Cynwyd, so Feasterville is closer to me than New Tripoli. If you have any recs for Feasterville welders, I'm happy to get out that way, it's only 15 miles or so. Thanks!

Sorry I must of looked at @Wyoming09 location. I deal with a small shop (2 brothers) in PIPERSVILLE PA.Forster brothers welding. They do some fabrication and welding for some of my work stuff. If you can’t find them I can get you the number on Monday when I am back at work.
