    yes complete HID kit,
i read a lot about going LED but several people said its not that strong and the light beam was inferior.
so HID was the way to go. my system was ballast, igniter and relays. see the video.
its a lot of parts but the outcome came out really nice and the bulb color matches the LED DRLs.

technically not a complete system since you don't have the proper HID projector, it's just a drop in system. It is worlds better than the stock lighting but there is still room for improvement in case you get caught up in the lighting mod part of things. Nice job overall

what is a proper hid projector ? you mean the lens where the bulb is going into? ...
most cars that come stock with HID have the same lens we have on tacoma.

but yea the new lighting is much much better than stock, and this system has 5 years warranty .. so hopefully it will last.
i was also worried about the color of it not matching the DRL. I hate blue HID ghetto systems.

Halogen projectors are not the same as HID projectors. Take a look at cutoffs from morimotos or Lexus rx350 projectors and compare to ours. I have HIDs as well and the cut off is decent but nothing like OEM HID projectors.

I have the Morimoto 5500k hid kit and the Morimoto XB LED fog lights, which are 5500k and match nicely.

What “white” bulbs did you try? Sylvania has several silver star variants. Ranging from about 3900k to 4200k. I have hella “extreme white” H9 in my high beams which are supposed to be 4200k and are warmer than my 5500k but much whiter than standard halogen were.

I run the RX350 projectors. They are a bolt in(after you heat up or cut open your factory lights) upgrade to the factory projectors when you feel like getting deeper into the lighting mod game. The projectors look almost identical at first glance to stock projectors but the bowl that the bulbs go into are shaped differently because a HID bulb and halogen bulb are different lengths and require a different focus(bowl) design. the RX350s also have a shroud that moves to give you both hi and low beam abilities. Using a splitter with the RX350s will give you 4 hi beam lights instead of the stock 2. Without opening up the lights, a drop in HID kit is the best bang for the buck though, it provides far better light output while still maintaining a decent cutoff that won't blind oncoming drivers.
As for fog lights/driving lights, like Pickupman, I use the Morimoto XB LEDs. I actually rarely turn them on cause they provide too much foreground light during regular night driving. I can see better with them off. I mainly got them cause they are black, I hate chrome. lol

i dont think i will ever consider taking my headlight apart.
There is a big risk to break something, or screw up the seal and end up with a sweating headlight.

This vidclip is dope, simple and to the point. It has a lot of good info. I traded in my '15 Taco DC PreRunner 4x2 for a '17 Taco DC TRD Sport 4x4. It's time to kick up Tuffy v2.0 with some mods.
Much thanx to @xzatx for a sweet DIY video
