Just purchased these Tyger Auto step bars.... I was leaning towards Sliders or Predator step bars but they were really expensive and I dont plan on off roading any time soon and mainly wanted protection from door dings.. I saw so many positive reviews on these so this is what I went with. They look great and decent price.... however I’m not a fan of the stars on the steps.. so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a way to cover these without it ruining the look or making it look cheap?

Skateboard tape will cover those stars and the logo very well. I did this to mine, and they add a little bit of grip as well.

@TacoGlenn81 I bought the same step rail faux "Syders" last year.

    They've been great.

Prior to ordering them I'd planned on covering the stars & logo as well. After getting them in place I truly lost the desire to cover them as they don't bother me in the least.

Here is what I was going to cover them with : Hopefully this will help you out.

They really do help a great deal in those parking lot situations....door ding protectors.

3M 4 in. wide safety thread tape worked perfectly for me. Got it from my local Home Depot. I just had to cut 4 strips measuring them with the step. The wide part of the tape (4 in.) is perfect because thats how wide the steps with the stars are so theres not cutting on the wide part. Here's how it looks...

Bought these rubber stick-on pads from Harbor Freight, $3 a piece, work great.

How thick is safety thread tape from Home Depot ?

Appears to be very thin. Not sure you can get more flush than that.
