The interior piece of the grille (the one you bought from Cali) isn't even the part that attaches to the truck...

Pulling up on the tabs only breaks the off and makes me very angry. The only way I could get it off was to push down on these tabs on the top of the bumper with a screwdriver. At least the gouges will be out of sight....

It looks like you pulled the center, Cali Raised piece off and not the grille surround..

I think the entire grille surround is 2 10mm bolts and 4 clips, two up top and two on the bottom IIRC.

I have the OEM one and it just slides out parallel with the ground, there are no tabs to release..

The grille surround doesn’t even attach to the truck. The surround gets screwed to the insert, and all the mounting points to the truck are on the insert. Yes, 2 bolts and 2 plastic pins on top, the 2 large tabs on bottom outer ends, and 6 smaller tabs in the center. The factory tabs just release very very easily. These, not so much. Grille looks nice though.

Thanks man! My vid will work great for removing/reattaching the factory grill and will do the same for anything aftermarket if all of the tabs are in the same places.

The tabs are in the same places, they just won’t release. Still happy with the grille overall though.

Sometimes they can be pretty stubborn. After a few palm bashes I've been able to execute a quick release strike similar to this:

If I hit it any harder I think that’s what would have happened to the grille. Hahah

Ha ha probably. Maybe take a bit of sandpaper and shave off a hair on the tabs.

Damn I was thinking that, but I already put it back on. Haha. Next time maybe. Prying down the tabs on the bumper works, but I don’t particularly like sliding a screwdriver between painted surfaces.
