Just bought a new 2018 offroad 4x4 and noticed the space between the bed and rear bumper on drivers side has about a 2 inch gap while the same area on other side has about 1/2 inch gap. Is this normal or should I have the dealer look at it?

Sounds like the bed may be misaligned

    All the things!
It's a semi common problem. Results from possible bed misalignment and bumper misalignment. As another member suggested, take it to the dealership and they'll get it sorted out for you. It's a fairly easy fix of loosening the bed and bumper bolts and getting everything squared up.

Don't worry, it's not from an accident, just poor factory or dealership QC.

Yes I have the tow package. Have had the truck about a month and just noticed this yesterday. Maybe a dumb question but since the hitch is connected to the frame...this should not effect towing safety correct?

Welcome to the forum, if you don't want to sit a the dealer for an hour get a T-55 Torx bit and a breaker bar, loosen the bed bolts, shove the bed around until the gap is even (or as even as possible), tighten the bolts and have a beer. On the off chance this method doesn't even out the gap then you have to adjust the bumper which is more involved.

There have been numerous threads about this fixable issue. It has been addressed by many members and fixed by many dealerships.

Driver side on my pro. GF noticed it when taking delivery. Things like this usually bother me but, I just kinda forgot about it. I figured, "Well, its a truck I guess"

On my M3 this wouldn't fly.
