Tacoma Hitch and Coupler lock set

    I am not sure what I'm supposed to be looking for but I cant find it on Amazon.

    I ordered
    $29 CURT 23505 Right-Angle Trailer Lock Set, 5/8" Pin for 2" Receiver, 1/4 x 3" Coupler Span

    From amazon and it does not fit in my 2 inch receiver. Seems the hitch bolt needs to be half a inch to 1/4 a inch longer for the lock to fit.

    What am I looking for when searching?

    I am looking for a hitch and coupler lock set maybe even a ball lock too when the trailer is unhooked that will all be keyed alike and work for my boat trailer.

    Any suggestions?? I'm using the standard toe package hitch that came with my 07 Trd off road.

    Measure the OD of the hitch and buy one that fits that size off of etrailer. That's how I've done it.

    It'll list it like this and you are concerned with the diameter and inside width

    Specs:

    • Fits 2" x 2" and 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" trailer hitches (Class III, IV, and V)
    • 5/8" Diameter pin
    • Inside width: 3-5/8"
    • Overall length: 6-7/8"

    Yeah, the one I used with my previous truck was too short because the Tacoma reciever has an additional layer of metal where the pin goes through. I got this stainless steel one from Amazon that has 3.5 inches of usable length. It works fine - it's more than long enough. I had a few o-rings the right size to fit on the pin and make the length just right, but that isn't really necessary.

    I have different types of coupler locks for multiple trailers, so this doesn't give you a single key solution though.

    '17 wheels,int. Wipers , bed mat , relocate trailer plug , husky floor liners , Lund nerf bars, wet Okole seat covers- heat & lumbar.
    Don't get the harbor freight one its too short. A friend of mine with a lathe, turned off 3/8" of the end block on the shaft side, and gained enough length to work. This was really my only option since I waited past the 90 day return period.

    I drilled a hole through a standard hitch pin and use one of the twenty locks (set all keyed alike I have.I use these locks on absolutely everything ... only one key on the ring.

    The Connor Hitch Lock has one flaw. The provided O ring doesn't make contact with the lock rendering it useless. I have this one and used a #203 O ring that I carefully "shaved" down with a razor so that it makes contact with the lock yet it allows the lock mechanism to fully engaged when pushed together. I'm hoping that this mod makes it more weatherproof....
