Hi All, new Tacoma owner, and new to the site

I had two questions I was hoping to get some help with...

Do they K&N Air Filters, or cold air induction systems help with gas milage, or just letting the engine breathe better?

Also, would a bed cover or camper shell help with milage by creating some bit of aerodynamics by keeping the air from catching in the tailgate?

Any information in this is appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to TW... Not sure about your first question but as far as your 2nd question. I think the added weight from a shell would decrease your mileage more than the tailgate being up...Just my opinion!!

Mythbustera took on the tailgate mpg myth, proved it false (tailgate down doesnt help mileage)

Id take that for a grain of salt, since im sure there are alot of variables there.

But i dont think it will help mpgs buying a shell

As far as intakes go, thats a deep rabit hole here. Fact is you already have a cold air intake and the after market stuff wont help a stock truck with mpgs/preformance

    Welcome!

When I bought my TRD super charger the kit came with a drop in K&N filter to help it breath better. I don't think you will notice or see any difference in MPG though.
