Some major puckering going on there especially with the added rain.

So... I will be leaving from North County San Diego early Friday morning to head up to Mammoth. Anyone else in the SD area leaving early Friday? Up for caravaning if anyone else would like to join.

Awesome shots! Stoked you guys checked out the mine, did you go all the way through? Also do you mind giving as much detail on laurel lakes as you can? lol I am still nervous about that hairpin with my DCLB

Great pics, did you take these on the road to Laurel lakes (other than the mine shot, of course)? Those thunderclouds look mean.

Over the weekend, I youtubed a couple of video's of the trail other drivers took. It was helpful to see the challenging spots and those turns. To me though, it didn't look any more challenging than having to parallel park. Just a whole lot of forward/reverse for us DCLB's.

@scary_larry has a long bed too. We all made it down to the lake and back all with light rain. That turn definitely will wake you up. It is tight with an long drop on one side.

Although, if you guys can manage that trail with 16 trucks I will be impressed. Trail traffic could be a problem. Trail is narrow and turnouts are small. Most of the traffic we encountered were dirt bikes and side by sides.

I would recommend splitting up into groups of four and staggering your start times.

I like that idea, its hard enough getting around people when you're by yourself.
