    Rather than paying $500 to repaint a used truck top I decided to go the plasti dip route. It worked out pretty well I believe. Wanted to share it...

    I guess it looks OK for now, right up until it starts to peel.

    Do you have a local high school/vocational school or tech college near by? Hit them up to see what they'd charge to paint it for you. Otherwise do the prep yourself and use either an inexpensive gun from harbor freight or you can buy color matched paint in spray cans from paint places. Sorry, just not a fan of Plasti-dip even though my rear bumper is painted with it (banged up factory chrome bumper).

    Yeah, it was just a quick cheaper alternative. I would like to have it painted but I paid $200 for the top and didn't want to sink too much into it when I could go out and buy a new one for $700. When this starts to have the wear and tear and peeling I may take your advice and buy a cheap gun to use and paint it myself.

    Those are more like $1500-2000 or more new depending on options.

    Looks good to me...curious how it holds up for ya.
