Just did mine today and used a lot of tape. Seems like the bumper is a pain in the ass to remove so I would suggest tape.

I can’t seem to find an answer in the search so maybe someone can help.
Is the standard plastidip white a close match to the super white paint? Close enough to plastidip the chrome grill surround?
    Thanks.

Thanks. That was my other option, but I’m guessing the answer is simpler than an hour drive round trip. o_O

    On a google search, type:
    Plasti-dip site:www.tacomaworld.com
    Or
    Michelin site:www.tacomaworld.com

Those will search the Tacoma World website for "Plasti-dip" or "Michelin" and give you thread results via google.

You first type your search term, then a space, then site: followed by the URL (no space between the colon and URL). That is how you search any website for a particular search term.

Really handy when you want to see photos of something. Do as outlined above and when you get your google results, click on the images tab.

A much easier way to do quick and dirty searches for random stuff on TW. In many cases, a better way.

 I would let it cure completely before exposing it to road debris at 60+

Have a 06 access cab TRD OR, fully debadged, speedway blue. Leveled with 5100, on stock OR rims that are peeling... Thinking about plasti dipping rims, as well as grill/bumper since I hate the chrome. Thoughts on any bronze colors for rims? And what color to do grill/bumper? Was also considering bronze there. Also could do all a satin black?

Searched the thread and couldnt find anything on this.

Has anyone tried to plastidip the 3rd gen tonneau cover?

Mine has faded fast and is starting to look bad on my truck. I love the cover as it turns the bed into a locked trunk and i can always keep my stuff in there. Ive thought about plastic restorer (i use that on the black fenders which have also started to fade, works well!) but that would take way too much time and product, that stuff is expensive. I am thinking plastidip would be a nice alternative and match what i have already done. Ive dipped the emblems, grille, and back bumper. I need to redo all that though and was thinking this time around i could add in the cover. Any reason it wouldnt work?

Ask 10 people get 10 answers but I'm gonna do it anyways. Got some 17 inch alloys. Were previously refinished before I got it. Peeling showing pitted rim underneath in several spots. I like black. I'm going for a blacked out look.

If I do a good plastidip and don't cut corners is it worth doing?
