Has anyone called and talked with a factory rep from Toyota. I'm getting ready to bring my truck in for service and I'm going to have them look at the instrument cluster again. I had it replaced at 1500 miles last year. The other day on my ride home from work the tach was stuck at 3k and the speedo at 20 mph. I was probably going 55-60.
I notice this only happens after the truck has been sitting in heat all day, windows closed. So it seems only when the cabin is hot.
I just don't want my truck tied up for 2-3 weeks like last time.

Typically the average consumer does not talk to a factory rep. Now, you could call corporate and talk to a case manager, however, they will tell you take it to the nearest dealer. How long did the previous replacement last? How many miles on the truck currently?

Just turned 14,000 miles.Like others have said this only happens in the very warm weather. After the truck has been sitting like at work all day.

Is the mileage stuck or updating properly while the speedo is stuck at a lower speed ?
Odd that it would be the cluster 2x in a row with the same exact problem, cluster swapped.

I've read here on the forum that some have had their cluster replaced twice. The odd thing to me is that it happens only when the truck sits in warm for a period of time. I've left the windows down all day while at work 80-85 degrees and when time to go home its not that bad.If I leave the windows up all day and the cabin is much warmer the tach and speedo stick is much worse.

Hopefully they fix it, regardless though, invest in some high quality ceramic tint :). Keep that cabin temp down a bit.

I'm sure they will fix it. Probably just replace the cluster again. I just don't want to be without my truck for 2-3 weeks.

It's closer to 100 here in Houston and that's never happened to me. Maybe not a heat thing?

I feel your pain..Seems to only affect the clusters on the SR’s..(basic lcd screen). Had mine replaced about a year ago for the ticking tach....no issues since. The worst part was driving a corolla loaner for two weeks while they ordered the new cluster and programmed the mileage.

Nice...maybe all the bad clusters got purged out of the system, and the 2018’s are all good...

Not likely that is a heat issue. Something else is up. Make them fix it.
