If more people buy them they will be made, I can't see anything else having any value.

    Demand be higher than availability.

Sales of autos plummet because of buyers walking away to buy MTs from competitors.

Aftermarket makes a conversion kit that sells like hotcakes. Like black wheels, LEDs, etc the OE will begin making those options. Because popular & profitable.

    Or not.

I feel like there is enough demand for them to at least keep it as an option.
We just need them to keep designing the manuals.
Even you AT guys who are complaining about lag and all the other negatives that are going to come with the increased push for fuel efficiency.
That’s not a problem with manuals.
    You have ultimate control.

Your 'feel' doesn't matter, unless you are a bean counter at Toyota, and that demand is really there.

Do you really think a company that killed the Supra and MR2 which were halo cars, then the Celica, which was a quasi halo car for F&F wanna be's, is really worried about the few folks that prefer a manual?

Keep in mind that in addition to the trans/driveline connections/rear gear ratios it takes a different wiring harness, different ECU, hydraulics and firewall configuration to produce a manual. It's not like letting you choose between 2 different seat colors. So production wise, it is a big deal. For a small piece of the pie.

Don't get me wrong. I hope they keep it too.

But you are correct, 'demand' is the ONLY thing that will keep 'supply'.
