Hey TW my name is Roger here is my 2000 Tacoma build up. It's a SR5 V6, 4wd, 5-speed truck with 176xxx miles now. I bought it off a guy on craigslist $4k but was listed at 4800. It's a work in progress with some rust on the bed and rear bumper from it's tour in the midwest but was originally a California truck. The frame, engine and trans are good, interior good albeit dirty as hell. The suspension and brakes were clapped out and I had them changed promptly. Compared to a 92 extra cab 22re 4wd this thing is a rocket. Currently I'm looking for new bumpers front and back and possibly a new bed that isn't going to set me back $800.

My goals for this truck is to make it as stock pimp as possible while keeping it functional and capable. I do want to offroad some but don't anticipate rock crawling.

    Currently:

When I first brought her home

    Broken Leaf!

Outside Atlas Spring in La Puente. New Bilsteins and Leafs installed. The guys installed the rear first which brought it up nearly 3" over stock so to level the front they put the springs on the 2nd notch from the bottom. I asked them to keep it on the bottom since it's recommended for OME 2881s.

I was concerned about CV angle when I picked up my truck and sure enough it was rubbing. I drove the truck for a weekend before deciding that I didn't like the CV angle, knowing that the front wasn't set up the way I wanted. I brought the truck back to Atlas Spring and Fredy said he would take care of it since I wasn't satisfied. No extra charge. Atlas spring is a solid SoCal shop and they do good work.

Didn't take any good pictures after but here is my Corgi Rusty on our way camping.

Stock 15" wheels with 31"s that came with the truck. Quite frankly these are my least favorite toyota alloys. I sold them to a guy from Tehachapi CA but met him in Palmdale. I found set of 4runner star wheels for $350 with a set of rollers on craigslist and got them the same day in Canoga Park. I then found 5x Goodyear Wranglers with Kevlar for $260 on cragislist. Tires only had 5k miles on them before the owner got bigger tires.

So far the truck has treated me well. I want to deal with the bed before our move to Oahu otherwise I might just leave it until something good pops up.

Next on my list is detail the interior to clean up the nasty carpet and seats, offroad mirrors, new head unit and speakers and I should be set.

    Some updates:

Installed 01-04 Steering wheel. Found an ad on craigslist $45 for the wheel and airbag. Guy showed up with the whole steering column! unfortunately the steering wheel doesn't have the cruise control but I rarely use it anyways. I swapped out the turn indicator stalk while it was apart. Swap was pretty straight forward and the milwaukee m12 stubby impact made short work of the steering wheel bolt.

Installed @SRQ_Fabrications / True North Fabrications ditch light brackets. They're a good deal at $35 shipped but installing them was a pain. I only managed one screw on each since the pillar must be different from the 3rd gen 4runner but nothing a bit of lexel can't fix.

Installed a brand new take off '18 TRD pro muffler

Did the ISR Mod using a 1.5" Test Plug from home depot and stock clamp.

    Did the Elbow Mod

I appreciate the kind words man. She's not as clean as your truck! I like that you have the TRD package with the locker, big mirrors and fender flares. I've been hunting for all of that.
