I understand every thread has a Debby Downer, but read the guys post and how much it changed his experience before being negative. Dang man!

I just got my TSB done this morning as well, however it's a different TSB from yours. I have a 2018 Tacoma so my dealer applied T-SB-0062-18, as it states it's for the 2016-2018 Tacomas. T-SB-0058-18 states it only affects for 2016-2017 Tacomas.
The dealership I went to is in SoCal - Longo Toyota in El Monte.

As for the drive, I can noticeably feel the smoothness in shifting soon as I picked up my truck. Everything just shifts a lot better now, but I'm still contemplating about OVTunes and if it'll be worth it. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the update. I have noticed this a couple times with my 16 and I've booked an appointment at the dealer. Hopefully they don't give me the run around.

So took a peek at both TSB's and they seem to address two different issues... surge in 3rd to 4th gear, and then hesitation from stop with WOT. Don't know enough technical stuff to tell from the TSB's if they both use the "same" ecu flash, and it happens to fix BOTH problems, or if they are actually different flashes and therefore different shifting programs in the ECU software. Can anyone clarify this?

you will get the latest revision of the software,, and it fixes other issues also, toyota isnt going to admit there was ever a problem with other issues, so they say this fixes a certain problem, and puts other fixes into the new version... IMO

I suspect even if it was you'd void your ECU warranty. Because there would be no record with Toyota that your ECU had been updated.

Not worth the risk for something that's already free.

Wow great information, I was just thinking it is what it is. I have an 18 and though that's just how its suppose to be. I have also considered the OVtune for $600 and just eat it. Thanx guys I though I was just going crazy in my own mind. I am not so worried about the MPG but the shifting was what was blowing my mind. Outside of this problem I love my taco!!!!
