Wanted to shop around to see if you guys have any recommendations for windshield replacements based on price/quality, ect. Just got a quote from a local mobile service for $275. In and around the East Bay area.

    -Thanks

I used Peter Pan Auto Glass in Fremont once in the aftermath of a smash and grab. Fast service, good price.

I’ve used Safelite glass in the past. Quick response, price wasn’t too crazy. On time, quick work, no issues.

If you were willing to get over to the peninsula, Jon is over at Atlas Auto Glass and is a fellow Tacoma enthusiast.

Pick n pull cheap and fast. No leaks. The guy in Richmond is on it. He's done 2 windshields and a large side window on a 93 surbanan for me, never a issue.

One thing to watch for OP and not sure if its the same on your 06 but I expect it is, my windshield molding has a rain lip to it. The shop that did my first windshield removed the wasted windshield and didn't bother with the original molding. They used some generic crap that had no lip to it at all. More coverage on one side and barely any on the other side. Called the insurance company up, they were more than happy to resolve it. Had Safelite (concord) come out to my residence with a new windshield, new factory molding and replace everything.

Point is, be sure you mention it before anyone does that work. The shop that tossed mine, claimed I didn't specify I wanted the original molding. :censored: From what Safelite said, its more than possible to re-use the factory molding. The installer just has to be careful and know what they are doing.
