LCAs are being installed as we speak, as well as new poly bushings for my steering rack. Bumpers get installed next month. I'm leaving for vacation this Sunday and need to use the truck for 10 days, but it goes right to the paint shop when I get back. Bumpers get installed after paint is all done, and they're already sitting at the paint shop waiting with their fresh powdercoat. I'm pulling off my old All-Pro bumpers and getting them re-powdercoated and I'll be selling them. The bed rack is done with powdercoat and I just picked it up this morning. This project never seems to end.

Color matched Indigo Ink Pearl, same as its original factory color. But in semi-smooth textured bedliner. My painter is using factory pigments, pearl and metal flake to replicate the color.

Well, I'm lazy and I'm not doing much of any prep work for the painter. He'll be doing all of the sanding and prep, including all of body work to get rid of a bunch of annoying little dents and divots and a wrinkle in my rear fender. My hood and roof are eroded down to the metal and the roof is starting to rust so it has to be totally stripped and polyester primered. I was quoted a high estimate based on all of the shop hours, cost of the 5 bedliner kits and pigment (probably will only need 3-4), and any assembly. I'm having him cut my rear fenders for the high clearance bumper since none of my friends were available to help when I wasn't busy with work. He's also installing my new fender flares after painting them. Quote was for $4300 out the door, but I'm budgeting for $5000ish. This guy paints high-end show cars and got into doing the tintable bedliner coating. His work is impeccable.

My friend got his 1st gen coated in a dark silver last year for about $2500 out the door but he did his own pre-sanding, disassembly/assembly, and bumper installs. He had his steel bumpers, including high clearance rear with swing-outs, and his bed rack coated with a lighter silver color, too. But, he wished he would have done powdercoat on those. He also didn't need any panels to be stripped down to metal like mine needs.

I also got a quote a few months ago from LineX and they quoted me $4500 and that didn't include any prep or body work. They also weren't able to color match to my factory blue color. They had a similar color, but it didn't have the complexity that mine has.

I'll certainly be interested in how it comes out for you.

Something durable, but smoothish would be nice in the long run. Being white takes a lot of complication out for mine.

    Yep, Bryan. Specalt on here.

This truck has so much sentimental value to me that it would be an injustice to not give it a rebirth. I couldn't imagine NOT having this truck due to all of the important things in my life that it has been a part of. I've never once, in 12 years, considered getting rid of it for any reason.

    I think it's signature-worthy.
