2017 Quick Sand Tacoma TRD Offroad
    Hello all,

I am new to the Tacoma world and even the truck world. I traded in my '12 Civic Si for many reasons. The paint was shot & issues were arising at 70k miles. All around, it was a fun daily, but would beat me up on the downtown streets especially in stop and go traffic. I had always wanted a truck, yet I knew I never wanted a full-size Ford/Chevy/Dodge. I looked into the Nissan Frontier as well as the Tacoma. The Frontier fell short in all categories. Its biggest was it's 13 year old styling and technology. That truck offers nothing more than a radio lol.

I watched Tacomas around the midwest for months on end. I happened to be at a Toyota dealership in Indiana with a friend while he was test driving other vehicles. I found a row of Tacomas to chose from. In that row was a 2017 TRD Off Road Dual Cab Extended Bed with fully loaded features; premium technology package & tow package. I was looking for a dual cab, short bed, with the basic technology package (for backup sensors and color match bumper). I ended up test driving this Tacoma and fell in love with the ride quality when compared to my Si or my family's '10 Highlander. This 2017 was one of two they had left and they were pushing hard to get rid of these two comapred to the 2018s. I found myself with a truck that had more options than I wanted at the price I was looking for one with less features. However, I debated with myself since I wanted a Cement '18 TRD Off Road because that color is beautiful. I couldn't pass on the second favorite color, quick sand, with more options.

Now I've found myself the dream truck. The extended bed has been more useful than I could think of. Plus the extended bed look with a dual cab looks better in my eyes now. I plan to swap out the chrome '17 grille with an '18 grille. Possibly black out the badges and pickup a second set of wheels (the TRD Pro matte black ones).

One last thing, I have done some searching on this forum and CANNOT find an INDIANA thread. If someone could help out, I'd greatly appreciate that.

Nice looking truck, DCLB is my favorite configuration for the 3rd gen, AC would be my second choice.
