what the largest tire can run on 2017 Tacoma with 3 inch lift? thanks in advance!

Depends on lift brand, wheels, tires you have in mind. Going over 2 inches with a 4x4 will cause problems.

im at 3".....havent had any issues 30K later

 

40". Might require some trimming.

There are many threads dedicated to this over on the wheels and tires forum, as well as on the suspension forum. There is no short answer to this, really. It depends on wheel backspace, tire width, what lift you're running, etc.

 

The general rule seems to be 3" of lift you can fit 285/70/17s. Depending on the offset, backspacing etc...will determine how much you have to trim to eliminate rubbing. Some report little to none, some have to cab mount chop and trim plastic.

 

Not hating on anyone, just saying. There is indeed ALOT of info on TW, sometimes though it's very difficult to sift through most of it. Lot's of different opinions, suggestions and circumstances that could easily change an outcome if one isn't too careful. Just my two cents.

 

stick to 285/70/17 and you’ll be okay. Worst case scenario you have to trim a little.

Also, over 2” and you’ll likely need UCAs but it won’t necessarily cause problems. Stay under 3” and you’ll be fine.

265/75r16 will clear.
You'll need to do some trimming with 285/75r16

Or the 17" equivalent

255 80 17 or 255 85 16

Full 33". Use OE wheels or ones with OE specs and no lift is required. Or cutting, chopping pounding.

No additional parts, alignment issues etc.

 

Instead of TacomaWorld, Tacoma Owners & Enthusiasts it should say "TacomaWorld, What Size Tires Can I Fit"

 

Or just have Suspension, Wheel and Tire subforums.

And every picture should have requirement to go ahead and list what lift, tires, and wheels are on it.

 

I have 285/70r17's with JBA UCS's and all I had to do was trim a bit off the button fender flare.
