OK, I'm at a loss and seeking help. All the construction and new lanes on I-35 is driving my Nav crazy. Always correcting itself. I have done the update for etunes as described so I'm at newest update.... it did not update maps.

Does anyone have hands on experience... guys posting they sell them on Ebay... I can't find :(

I am referring to the onboard Nav system on my 2012 TRD. I know there are other solutions just looking to update my truck's system.

The big drawback to the OEM on board NAV system is map updates. Even when you get updates, they are usually at least 2 years behind the real roads. I updated my F150 to the latest this year, and the 160 toll road from I-20 to DFW Airport is not on it. Also, the 121 toll road from DFW to Mckinney is also absent. The real downside is you have no way of knowing exactly what the "update" includes. Some of the after market radio/nav systems use Garmin, so updates are much easier, cheaper, and more current.

Call Toyota. IIRC you have to pay for updates.

It's why I have no interest in an in dash nav, as pretty as it is. Plus I can take my Garmin with me and put it in a rental car, or move it between vehicles for different trips.

That helps a bit at least I'm not going crazy ;)

I have a Garmin too and of course my phone. Just like on board... I live in a small town but travel to Dallas and Austin a lot and on board is convenient while there. Seems like updates could be better and easier... I will call dealer today but last I called they just said run updates from website.

The maps is on an SD card on the face of the radio, at least mine is. To update it, you will need to purchase a new SD card from Toyota.

Stephen I see you have a 2018... maybe setup different on my 2012 ? I don't see an SD card spot on mine... is it hidden?

It might be different. This is my first Tacoma. I know mine has the SD card slot at the bottom right of screen.

Cool and all to have navi, not cool that you have to pay for updates. I wonder if someone gonna make an android box like what they did for the lexus.

I am sure a Raspberry Pi 3 could do it.
