I just got through a set of Cooper ATWs, which is their AT3-based winter/ AT tire, and thought they were great. They handled everything I needed from them including our northeast Ohio winters, camping in the mountains, forest roads, farm work, and extended highway miles pulling a trailer. (Less well in that last category but still no real complaints, though an LT tire may suit me better in the long run.) Anyways, I was decided on buying another set, when I found out that Cooper just came out with a new tire based on their AT3- the AT3 4S (four season)

This tire is supposed to be something of a best of both worlds between the original AT3 and the ATW. It's got more winter siping than the AT3 and has the snowflake rating, which the AT3 lacks, but it's not quite as soft and winter engineered as the ATW. Also it has a longer treadwear warranty than either tire at 65k.

Sounds perfect for me. New tire so not a lot of reviews out yet, but I've had the Cooper STs on my old Jeep, my dad has the AT3s, I just had the ATWs on the truck, and all three have impressed. I like and trust Cooper, so I got me a set. Here hey are with all of 100 miles on them. We'll see how they do!

Now I'm just waiting on my 5100s to arrive Monday so I can finally upgrade from the worn out originals...

I've been thinking of getting the AT/w, how many miles did you get out of yours ? I currently run the st maxx and added siping to them which I think really helped in winter.. I'm really loving the new AT3 sidewalls, think the 4S will be going on the wife's highlander when her old AT3 wear out ..

I swapped out for the 4S's after the ATWs had 65000 miles on them, not bad for a 50k tire, and to boot I ran them at 35 psi which was too high, they wore out in the middles but there was still PLENTY of life on the edges, had I run a more appropriate PSI I'm sure I could have gotten at least 75k out of them. Most of my miles are highway miles pulling a trailer though so I was running the higher PSI, should have done the chalk test though, but who has the time?

In any case as I've said in other posts I'd recommend the ATWs in a heartbeat, I'm just giving the 4Ss a try.

Here what my ATWs looked like after 65000 miles of running them overinflated. The edges look great and the middles are pretty worn. I could have gotten noticeably more than 65k I'm sure with proper psi and rotation.
