Thinking about buying the Thule Adjustable truck rack ( X-Porter Pro)

Does anyone have any experience using this on the Tacoma 4 door short bed?

I understand ( with adapters) it uses the factory build in support housing. Which is great, no drilling.

With the way the bed is designed, how low can the racks go?
Do you know if the rack (s) drop below the back window molding?

This is an expensive rack, so I want to make sure it will work for me, what are the pros and cons of using this rack, based on your experience?

    I appreciate your input.

I have the racks used them once, didn't drop it to see how low it goes. Looking to sell them don't really have a need for it, depending on where you live you can try the out and see for yourself.

I have the thule rack my bed and then one on my roof. The back had to go above 23 for the wood or kayak or whatever to clear the back window and shark fin antenna. The don’t go to low in the bed but it’s really easy to take it out of the holders. 71B60259-944F-43B2-BD92-B08358DAA358.jpg

People in Hawaii don't lower them or take them off.

I lower mine to go into the airport parking structure that’s about it. Because the back sits about an inch higher then the cab cross bar when the bed rack is set to 23

You can lower them, but the wheel wells prevent going very low. If you cut the risers, now you limit the height and lose the ability to use the Thule locks.

I have studied this extensively. Ended up having a local fab shop make some bars for me. I had the tonneau cover so it presented a number of challenges.

Never had kayak or paddle boards or surf boards hit my roof window or antenna.

    I appreciate everyone's feedback.

Taco Joe, I live in Arizona....would you sell 1/2 of the set ( see picture of El Duderino's truck, love that set up ) that is the set up I'm looking for, since both racks can't be lowered to lower or mid back window level...
    my concerns exactly.

    Thanks again.
