This is absolutely true. That is why an object the shape of a bike wheel (weight concentrated around outer loop) will maintain more rotational inertia than an object of the same weight shaped like a brake rotor (weight roughly uniform) even if they are the same diameter.

    So I'm confused.
Should we all be implementing Buell's braking system?

Thanks for all of that, I appreciate the recommendations. It sounded like the fender flare would be something I could easily replace on my own, maybe a $150 part from Toyota. The bumper was the pricey part, they’d probably need to replace it completely to make it perfect kind of a thing. As it turns out, the guy took the truck into the back and wiped most of my garage paint off with acetone, then polished it quickly, and it turned out pretty decent. Didn’t charge me a penny, great customer service, Jewell Auto Body in Lakewood: http://jewellautobody.com/. Doesn’t seem to be worth paying a grand for, my 2015 DCSB had a bunch of imperfections and the dealership didn’t give a shit (but maybe that’s the benefit of not washing your truck before trade in).

The bad part is, on the way home, my windshield took a massive rock from a one of those gravel hauling trucks that love to clog C470. It’s about a quarter size chip, pieces of windshield come out when you touch it. I was 3 cars behind the guy. Feels like I’m having weird bad luck with this Tacoma sometimes.

Gotta love Colorado. Got a brand new window little over a month ago and already got its first dime size chip. Luckily I think the repair on it will hold. Only time will tell though.

Taking the trailer in tomorrow to get the axle fixed temporarily. Talked to the axle manufacturer and they said they have had this issue on multiple other Bigfoot trailers. Turns out my trailer was one of the last trailers to be built with 2 3/8" axles. New trailers come with 3" axles to fix the problems they have had. Luckily the axle manufacture said they will send me 3" axles at no cost.

Gonna sleep on it before I make the cuts tomorrow. Mostly because it’s too dark to see what I’m doing now.

Oh and don't forget to cut that exhaust pipe off while you've got the cutting wheel out :hattip:

Suggestions on where to cut it? I am assuming after it goes up and over the rear axle but before it turns towards the bedside? I don’t want this to turn into a fender flare situation where everyone waits to give their input until after the fact haha

Haha! Yeah I'd cut right after it comes over the axle

I cut mine 2-3" longer than this but anywhere after the down turn will be fine.

Has anyone had to get emissions after cutting the exhaust? Any trouble there?

I think I read somewhere the exhaust has to exit past the rear axle but I could have read wrong.

I was thinking about how they stick a sensor in your exhaust pipe... do they still do that? I've had exactly one emissions test and it was on the ranger I had before the tacoma.

No clue, I lived up in the wild with no emissions. I have heard of a person who removed all three cats from a wrx used a 10 cent resistor to get rid of the check engine light and it still passed. Don't think they even checked the exhaust on it.
