Whole bunch of stuff in my garage
So after I got the rig towed to Michael's in Bellevue and was given a brand new Prius to drive home, thanks to my wife, I headed back Sunday (yesterday) morning to see what the deal was.

Turns out there was a piece of plastic that was caught in the throttle body not allowing it to open. Once the tech took that out, it started right up, but with minimal power. Just enough to let them drive it into the bay.

Upon further inspection of the plastic, they do not know where it came from. I have never opened the air filter, only Michael's has as I still have free maintenance (17k miles). I have not heard from them yet. Will hopefully be today. I'll try and take a photo of the plastic when I go pick up the truck.

On the bright side, I have a 4Runner with 3k miles on it as my free loaner.

You need to buy one of those permits to head up there right?

Yeah $250. Can take wife and children under the age of 18, and you get 5? Cords of wood also, it might be 10, can't remember.

For an annual pass right? I might take that up when my 2nd kid is older, but it looks like everything is closed due to fires? Lame.

Yes annual pass. Yeah this time of year they will close the area for recreation due to fire danger. We have to get waivers sometimes just to work out there and have a water wagon on standby.

Btw, my first day in I got stopped by the game warden and was informed you're required to carry a fire extinguisher and a shovel.

I did get a chance to talk with the guy who was driving it. The chassis is his old regular cab Toyota pickup. He wanted more interior space. He looked at a 4 runner body but decided that would be too big and too much work to make smaller. The Corolla body fit, he just had to shorten the frame rails, mostly behind the rear leaf springs but a little off the front. He says that the Corolla hood has enough of a turndown that he has a great line of sight out the front and he likes the approach/departure angles.

Any fly fishermen on here? My Dad is getting too old and unmotivated, my only fishing partner moved across the country, I'm trying to teach my girlfriend but I can only do that so much before going insane.

First picture was a few miles into Coyote Loop in Inyo National Forest.
Seconds from Lassen, near Burley Mt Lookout. Made it to the lookout when a fireman pulled up and told me I should get out of the area because of a nearby fire that started spreading towards us.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
Ran the MTP in that same size last year and had no complaints. Would have got them again but went up to 285/55/16 and they didn't have them in that size.
