Maybe thats contributing to the back issue? Ditch the pastries, keep the taco.

Everything is negotiable. What is it? Pics? How much?

Most of the time it doesn’t cost anything to post it for sale.

Once you post it, you may be contacted by a third party. That may be an option for a vehicle this new.

Everything I have is for sale, for the right price

Sounds like it's just a financial issue... not sure why the hate is there callin it a 'turd gen'.

I would take it to carmax rather than deal with selling it privately but that's just me

    I got stuff on order...
I just bought a certified pre owned 2017 TRD OR 4x2 with 29k miles from a local used car dealer. They have a string of new and used dealerships including Toyota. I've bought a few vehicles from them over the past 10 years so we have a pretty good relationship. They had the truck listed at 31,955. I got it for 31,600. They didn't have to go any lower because people were lining up to drive them and buy them. I had a black TRD Sport 4x4 sold right out from under me before we could even get it for a test drive. I also drove a 2017 Mag Gray TRD OR 4x4 with only 8,200 miles. It was loaded and it was beautiful. It was also $34k+. I don't know about the market in your neck of the woods, but Tacomas are worth their weight in gold around here. There might be a small depreciation hit when you first drive it off the lot, but it slows to a drip after that. If you're reasonable with your pricing, it'll probably go quickly. Just my .02 as a very recent buyer.

2017 TRD OR in Barcelona Red. Its the one on my profile pic. NADA says that the truck will retail for 35k and some change so that's what I would put it up for.

That's awesome. As with everything, YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary). My back isn't the greatest thing in the world anymore. Thanks military...

Financial issue... ish... While I do not like the monthly payment (who does), I can definitely afford it. It is not breaking the bank. But like I said previously, life happens, issues arise and priorities change.

Turd gen is more of an endearing term.

I sold my 1st gen for my 3rd - it had a lot of miles on it and was getting closer to needing for some major work than I wanted to pay for, plus it struggled to pull my trailer. I bought it used with very low miles for a good deal, and I tried to do the same with my 3rd but low mile used ones were only a couple thousand if that less than a new one, so I went with a new one.

Anyways, theres a market out there for low mile used 3rd gens, but I bet its disappointing for the seller if prices are similar to what I saw in 2017.

Thanks! If I may ask, what were the prices that you were seeing in 2017?

I sold my clean 2002 1st gen TRD OR 4x4 SR5 with 275k miles on it for $6500 (its my Avatar pic), and bought my 2017 TRD OR 4x4 for $34k (dealer posted it at $35k + some for add ons). Used ones with about 20k miles or so were only about $1500-$2000 less.

Edit: Oh yeah, I bought the 1st gen for about $14k with 35k miles on it, so it was a good truck that I made a good income with driving it for work and fun. Toyotas are just that good and I hope the 3rd gen is as good, too.

Also, what I meant by disappointing prices is that the used market value is so high, I bet a lot of buyers take advantage of lower financing benefits for buying new and are not interested in low mileage ones as I was.

You aren't gonna get what you owe in this area. I bought my 2017 OR 4x4 with the Premium and Tech packages, steps, tonneau, mats, and already tinted for $37,200 brand new. You'd be lucky to get 35k here.

But in California and other high priced locales, you'll do better.

Stock suspension, stock wheels, stock bumper, stock, stock, stock, dammit!
I just spent weeks pouring through tacoma ads and dealerships, and the resale prices here are high. I settled on my '17 TRD OR and love it, but it is expensive. As for the seats, they are the most comfortable seats I have ever had in a toyota truck and I have driven 4, three into their teens.

Have you thought about trading down? You could lower the payments and possibly get into a truck that you like better by trading it in for a second gen.

Carmax was a good suggestion. They typically give higher values than other dealers, but it will be trade in value, not retail. For comparison, I just bought a 17 DCSB TRDOR 4x4 with 16k miles on it, in California where Taco's are worth their weight in gold, for 33.9k. Good luck with the sale. Prob going to take some patience though.

When I went to trade my car in on the Taco, I brought my CarMax offer with me and used it as a baseline for what I expected for my trade. They ended up giving me $1,500 more than CarMax's offer.
