    i didnt get a template :( its for a FJ Cruiser, how can i be sure ive got it installed in the right position on the fender?

    Trial and error. Have a friend hold it up to the fender and try different locations while you sit in the truck, then mark the fender with a dry erase marker when you're happy with the view.

    haha sounds so simply!

    do you know with the FJ cruiser the base of the fender mirror has 2 blue bits sticking out, how do you deal with these?

    It look very normal in Japan, but it look weird in US, since nobody have it.

    That's what I would do, have someone hold it for you and measure it from your driver seat. All you need to make sure the mirror's arm sticks far enough, otherwise it will not work.

    One question... would that be legal with some of the U.S. federal "Pedestrian Safety Rules" for cars? Just wondering...I assume they are breakaway, or easily pivoted in case of hitting something...

    Old post, I'll throw by opinion out here. The mirror ok on the FJ and other Japanese vehicles. The Tacoma might look odd with it.

    If someone wants a unique accessory on their Tacoma go for it.
