Which would be an all around better motor? Internet chatter says the v6 sucks so Im checking a source now. Im finding a few 89-95 pickups with the v6 that im passing on because ive heard they just arent any good because of horrible gas mileage, cant get out its own way, headgasket failure... those are the major problems im seeing. Out of the 22r and 22re i see a desire for more power other than that the motor is a cousin to the cockroach.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
22RE, the power difference between them is negligible and the 3.0 gets the mileage of a V8 where the 4 cylinder does decent on gas. The oil filter is a real bitch to change on a 3.0 too, one of the worst there is!

22re hands down. Super easy to work on and dependable. Not a power horse at all but could always regear if you go bigger tires
