    i just bought a CX for my 2018 Tacoma. Is it normal for the lift gate to open so far? My wife can’t reach it to pull it closed.

    That seems a little high to me. I’m wondering if the wrong snubbers were installed?

    it seems the CX models open pretty high....from what I have seen. my z series is cap height....

    Nope, that's wrong. It shouldn't open that far, maybe a twenty or thirty degree angle when open. I've got the same model ARE and I just replaced my struts again (second time now)- these are the ones that fit:

    I also replaced the bulb seal around the opening and the flat seal that goes along the bottom of the window if you need those links.
