I’d be interested in this recommendation too... What place have you found so far for 17 cents per ounce? So they have sputnik weights at a good price?

I added the link to my original post. Not sure on sputnik weights, that was for pyramids.

I bought some the other week at a tackle shop and paid about $.35 an ounce. I wasn't too happy with that price but they had the weights I needed at the time.

That'll happen! I tend to go through a lot of 3's and 4's. Need to restock on about everything but 1's and 2's.

I've never used that style before. I tend to stick with pyramids unless I don't want it to stick then I'll use banks. For drifting crappie rigs and such.

I would be happy to help you with this if you cut me some good deals! :D

Is there still any interest in an offshore trip the week of August 4-11? Joe, I know you couldn't make it. We will miss you, and look forward to the Next trip when you can make it.

If we can't get enough folks, it would be cost prohibitive, so I am at least going to get an inshore trip together, maybe in the middle of the week. My brother and I are definitely in, let me know if anyone else is.

Heading down to Destin, Florida for a week on Saturday. My dad and i are thinking about taking a deep sea charter or a Bay boat out.. just depends on how the fish are biting and prices.

Yeh, but, if it's only 3 of us though (you, my brother and I), that's over $600/person. I couldn't swing that.

I bought a Daiwa Seagate 20h last week. Thought I'd share my impressions with some like minded folk. I got it for $120 with is a pretty good deal off eBay NIB. I have it spooled with 20lb mono and a 50lb shock leader (plan to put some 15lb on it). I changed the centrifugal breaks out for the smaller ones and it cast pretty darn smooth. I am getting dangerously close to 150 yards(I have a 200 yard rifle range in my backyard that I cast into). I plan to pull the bearings out and oil them that should get me a little more distance or just replace them with ceramic bearings. I've got about 200 casts on it so far and really like it. It pulls 35 inches per crank (I assume when the spool is full) so she has some speed behind it. The seagate has only blown up on me a couple times and that was 100% user error. I took the breaks completely off because "I'm an experienced fisherman and dont need no breaks" and the second was me just trying out a new style cast.

Not sure where I got the idea from... :hattip:I'll take them off eventually, just need to educate my thumb a little bit more. Another 200-300 cast's I'll be no breaking it.

Been working on it! Need to get to some water so I can actually throw some bait with the demon mustad hooks! :playball:

Anyone decided for sure if they're going to fish the red drum tournament? Oct 24th-27th? Made my mind up today and will be fishing along side a buddy or two.
