For what it’s worth, I just picked up a tire tread depth gauge. Something I’ve wanted for quite some time. It shows 6/32 or approx 45% or the tread left. Lots of tread left for someone who never or rarely leaves the pavement. Reference to post 103 just above.

The Cooper Discoverer A/T3 and the Falken Wildpeak AT3W are my top two choices. I've run both with great experiences. That being said, if you are going to be driving 95% highway, go with the slightly less aggressive Coopers. The Falkens aren't terrible on the highway, but the Coopers are better.

10 ply is an E load tire, which should be built to the heavier standards like the C load.

For 285 E loads on such a light truck I'd be looking at 30psi and under.

Just got rid of my Hankook Dynapros (P-rated) for a set of these Cooper AT3s in 265/75/16 Load C (6-ply)...After Chalk Tested, running Fronts at 31psi, Rears at 29psi.

    Immediate impressions:
-Ride much quieter than the Hankooks
-Seem to absorb small bumps/cracks better (even though this seems counterintuitive due to increased Load Range..)
-Inaccurate half-tank fuel mileage note, dropped 1mpg, but again this was not a controlled test.

The P265/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor 111Ts on my 02 xtracab 4x4 are getting pretty close to the end of their life (probably 40k +. Slipping on rainy roads) and I’m looking for something to replace them with. Came across this thread and have to admit I dunno much about tires. Seems like a grip of folks like these Coopers. I drive 85-90% on “pavement” if you can call NYC streets that but the rest of time is on dirt and backwoods roads in Vt/ma/nj/pa or on the beaches around Long Island.

Is this the tire for me?

They've worked well for me in similar conditions including heavy snows...
