Well I am heading cross country and will have my 2014 Taco which is double cab with short bed loaded to near capacity. GAWR is 5500# and with full tank of gas I will be in that neighborhood. I have Michelin Defender tires. Do I inflate to maximum shown on tire? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You can for maximum gas mileage but the ride will suffer and the tires will wear wrong. The best thing to do is the “chalk test.”

Never use the pressure on the tire, find the sticker on the door jamb

OP if you are interested in the real answer, not the non-specific door jamb version, then do the chalk test. it will get you perfect and all the correct performance will follow. takes 10 minutes.
