2nd Gen OME Dakar hub to fender measurements

Bill, Tell the installer to lube the crap out of the bushings, I just installed my Dakars last week and they are squeaking

Also be aware the 5125's are not a direct fit, the lower bushings needs to be trimmed to fit into the saddle.

 

Thanks . Do you have a picture of the trimmed lower bushing in the saddle ? The dealer that did my frame swap is doing the install for free ( because the new Toyota leafs suck )and I think I should obviously let them know . I hope they do this right ! Thanks

 

Regular grease or something else ?

 

Did you have to trim lower shock bushings on your 5125s like RicanTacoma suggests?

 

I bought the OME bushings but they didn't come with any lube, the guy a sales counter gave me a small tube of
Energy Suspension Formula 5 prelube, Part # 9.11108

 

I didnt install the 5125's yet, thinking I had the wrong shocks. I bought the shocks off Craigslist so I wasn't 100% sure they were correct.

I called the seller, he explained to me to trim the metal sleeve and the rubber bushing to fit on the shock mount saddle. I also researched in here and found a few posting on trimming the 5125s bushings.

Now that I know, am going to rent a lift again, installed the shocks and the correct length ubolts for the Dakar leaf springs, the 10" were too long, the 7" too shorts, 8.5 are the right size, just FYI.

 

That’s what Headstrong sent with mine . I’m not liking the idea of having to mess with the rear shocks though . Especially since the dealer is doing the install for free they are not going to want to do any kind of custom trimming . Maybe I should get the OME shocks

I had the truck on the lift and looks like the bushing need to be trimmed am guessing .25"

 

I think that’s what I have . From Wheelers Off-road .

Can I ask you why you went with 5125s?

I bought the package off craigslist, 5100 with 887's, Dakars Mediums, and 5125 for rears. The seller told me the 5125 are extended shocks better for wheeling, to tell you the truth I dont know much about them they just came with the package.

My front is the Bilstein 6112s at top clip about 2.5” lift and had a 2”AAL in rear so I got the 5125s that are good for 2-3” of lift . And the 4” extended braided brake lines all around !
