You can find out their exact age by reading the 10-digit serial number on the white 1"x3" "Non-Spillable" label on the side of the batteries. The first digit is the year of production. The next four digits are the Julian date, so everything we're building today starts with 8213xxxxxx. Regardless of how old they are, they carry no warranty coverage after the original purchaser sells them. We sell into military and industrial applications that replace batteries in as little as a few weeks due to the demands of the application, so you're really rolling the dice when you buy used batteries. If you have them load-tested (and most auto parts stores will do that for free), make sure they are fully-charged to at least 13.0 volts, before being tested. Also, if they are run in series or parallel, they should be identical in age, size and type.
