Lift kit

I was wondering what's the best 3 inch lift kit for the 2gen tacoma I was looking at the roughcountry lift but I'm not planning on doing serious offroading but maybe 1 or 2 times in a month I will go mudding with my friends at his farm but I'm trying to figure out what the best lift. I'm only in high school working so I dont have a huge budget.

 

"Best" is very relative to your budget. What are you looking to spend?

Chances are, Bilstein 5100s are your best bet. If you stay at 2 inches or lower, you'll save some money. Anything above that an you're looking at new upper control arms to correct the caster angle.

 

ive got a 3 inch rough country kit for sale if you want it. its got 1000 miles on before i took it off and went bigger. rode great, alignment was slightly out of spec, nothing to worry about.

don't be a lift snob. for 3 inches, pucks and blocks are fine and dandy.

 

I ran on a toytec puck lift for almost a year. did just fine. wheeled the shit out of it only ever broke a shock (my own fault)

 

Not being a lift snob. Pucks and blocks are fine for rolling around town, but as soon as you bottom out your suspension in a mud hole, You have potential to snap the bottom of your shock. Not worth it IMO. Bilstein 5100s are more than affordable especially if its time for new shocks anyway.

 

I don't think its snobbish. It is shit quality but will accomplish the task for this instance.

Ok then I would probably like to stay with 2 inch lift so you said bilsten 5100s?

 

Yeah, and you can even use the stock spring and just preload it to the desired height instead of buying new springs. Saves about 200 bucks. Take a look at Headstrong Offroad. They'll hook you up. Bought my suspension components from them in the past.
