    hi all
looking for some new tires and rims for the 2016 OR, I have 2" icon coil overs on the front and the match for the rear... the 4 wheel parts guy is trying to sell me 285-70-17 BFG all terrains. Do you think 285 it a bit too wide? my thought was 275 max and even 265 if I wanted to go the "skinny tire" route. Any reason I would want or NOT want to do that....

thanks in advance.....for everyones thoughts... you guys know more than me!!!!!

    Gary

You may need a Cab mount chop and you will have to trim plastic.

My lift will be here in a week or two, and I’ll be putting on 285/70/17 ko2s. Just like everyone else with a lifted taco!

This topic has been discussed over and over again. Search 285 threads and there will be a wealth of info. Bottom line, what SagWagon said, you will need a cab mount shop and some plastic trimming to run 285s cleanly, full lock, full stuff. Theres a few guys on here that run 285s without trimming and say its works. It works as long as you don't turn too sharp or go over bumps. Your wheel offset also comes into play on this. You will get a more accurate answer to your situation by doing the research yourself.
