I understand the value of mud flaps in the wet, but are mud flaps useful or even a good idea if most of your off road driving is on dry dusty desert roads? I am wondering if they might interfere with pushing dust away from the truck.

They will help when your kick up rocks if you have wheels that stick out past the fenders.

    Welcome to TW.
I really don’t think mudflaps will have any effect on the amount of dust produced when hittin the desert. It’ll prevent rocks from being thrown but the dust won’t be affected or pushed away in my opinion.

    Rename them.

    It's what RokBlokz did.

Nothing will do diddly for dust.

Keep them. You will sand/rock blast the paint of your rocker panels.
