I like this idea a lot. Does it interfere with the tent if both are deployed at the same time?

I don't see how. Certainly not with deploying the tent. It might be close with the one of the window rods . Wont know it until use them both at the same time.

So I tried these out...it’s a no go for the zippers on the CVT. This might work for a tent with a just slightly smaller, but still “large size” per their measurements, it might work. After fighting for 10 minutes, I got 4 teeth to connect. I didn’t take picture of it on, but it just wasn’t holding the teeth the way the original did, obviously too small.

I might have been able to get it there, but if it’s that hard the first time I’m not fighting that SOB every day and night when I camp. The idea of this was quick and easy. I will either go velcro or see if I can replace it cost effectively. My assessment is that the fixnzip zipper is just slightly narrower than the original.

Broken one on the left, inside half of the fixnzip on the right.

If anyone wants to try this out on another brand of RTT and post shoot me a PM. I don’t have a use for it.

A recent trip in the Sierras came to an end in what can only be referred to as an "incident." Still, was a great trip and didn't end for another couple days until we finally made it home, an epic camp spot along the way.

I keep mine on permanently. If I could take it off I would though. No issues with having it on

I wanted to be able to use my ARB 2000 awning and room with my truck when I decide to not bring my camper and just use the RTT. I have a RCI bed rack. I had some brackets custom made. They were styled after the RCI rack which uses long tracks to be able to adjust where you mount the tent. This allows me to slide the brackets in and out as well as move the awning up and down. They probably made them a little too tall. Also, it is 1/4 steel, I initially had the tent on the back 2 rails and the brackets hanging out more. It wasn't as sturdy as I liked, so I moved the awning up to the front and pushed the brackets towards the front. I probably should have had them made out of 3/8 steel. I will bring them back and have them reinforce them. Any thoughts on the set up? I don't think I will travel with the awning up as there is too much dynamic movement.

Finally joined the ranks here. I mounted the tent with the bolts going through the cage into the tent and lock nuts inside the tent for security purposes. I'm still using the same hardware as described in the post without issue so far. Seems to be holding well.
