Hello,I'm waiting on Mr. Marv to finish my sub box and amp rack,I was going to go active with the JL audio twk 88,I'll be using the hertz high energies and a image dynamics 10" idq10.I have 2 JL amps,One is the JX 400/4 channel and the other is a JL JX 500/1 mono 2ohm amp..Would you go with a five channel instead of using those amps?If so what would you use? Thanks!

Those are good amps. If they're giving you what you need, why cut them loose? Need more power somewhere?

To answer your question though, I'd probably use a JL XD 1000/5v2 if I wanted to simplify. My XD 400/4 and 600/6v2 have been amazing amps.

Cash and space notwithstanding though - McIntosh MC4000M

You have a good point!I'm still going to look at that JL amp you mentioned...Maybe just to simplify things.

Err maybe skip the twk88, simplify a bit more and go with something like the VX1000/5i - DSP and kilowatt 5 channel amp in one small box

You should buy one of my Hybrid Unity U5A amps that I have lying around! I had them in my 4Runner before I sold it. Best class-D amp I've ever used.

That is awesome! I used to have some McIntosh in my home audio system. Never seen the car audio stuff. I have a JL XD700 and I love it. Hertz Mille Pro and a stealthbox with one 10”. Very happy with the result.

McIntosh made a lot of cool stuff for cars. IMHO it simply doesn't get any better as far as amps go...If you have the space and the electrical capacity for it. And the coin. Because these aren't being made anymore and they weren't cheap to begin with - sort of like the home stuff.

They made a really cool single DIN meter set for the dash too - somewhat of a unicorn.

i would do an arc audio xdi 1200.6 you would bridge the 5&6 channel. no need to run extra wiring.

I just picked up the JL VX1000/5i, should be here on Tuesday. Starting my new upgrades now and was really debating on using a JL Amp with the Fix 86 as I wanted to keep the entune. Going to give this a shot and upgrade the doors and wanted to check on Mr Marv or the JL Stealthbox (I know it's costly, but trying to keep the stock look).

I have a new marv box with amp rack and sub I’m trying to sell. Let me know. I’m just trying to get rid of it.
