Picked up a 02 prerunner dcsb on the cheap. Been wanting another one after I sold my 03. I had been looking for a 4x4 but in my area they are gold, 8-12k of you can find them. Always wanted a manual in my old one anyway. Then 2 weeks later I bought a 95.5 with a blown 3rz. It had alot of parts I needed for my swap (manual hubs, manual trans, ect) $800 bucks and it was mine. Then the following day a T100 with a 3.4 popped up for $600. One owner, garaged , ex cab, 4x4, auto, but it has just been t-boned and was rolled on its side. So long story short I bought 3 trucks for $4900 and shipped be able to build 2 out of 3. That's was my plan

First order of business was going over the 02. 300k and needed some love. I won't bore you with the normal maintenance items but I replaced cam, crank seals, water pump, timing belt, spark plugs & wires, replaced all fluids, adjusted parking and rear brakes, replaced a broken side mirror and 2 broken door handles. The front wheel bearings are in bad shape but I'm going to start my 4x4 swap soon so no need to replace them right now. I finished replacing all the above mentioned parts at the same time and the truck wouldn't start. I went over everything and triple checked it nothing, arrrgghh. Just a coincidence or bad luck fuel pump decided it had enough at the same time. Got a new one swapped in, up and running again no cel woo hoo

Found a good deal on some 4runner limited wheels and 265/75r16 dynapro tires for 150, ordered new ball joints, tie rod ends, rotors and pads and new brake lines. Since I was going to have the front end torn apart anyway I figured it's a good time to swap in my front axle from my 95.5 doner truck. I found a set of 4.56 diffs on Craig's for $350 but the rear was making noise and needed a rebuild. I installed the new front diff on the non add tube, replaced the seals and put the mounts on. I put new inner seals on the hubs, replaced the bearings and installed all 4 cv boots.

Took care of some odds and ends, replaced all the burnt bulbs. Replaced all the gauge cluster lights with LEDs. Replaced the windshield and wiper blades. Found a good deal on Ebay on some black turn signals and a black grill. Also removed the pin stripe and debadged my tailgate and set on the rear doors

I put a call into wheeler's offroad, got some 5100's, 883's, daker leafs, u bolts and shackles. Install went smooth since luckily my truck is from the desert and has zero rust. Got it aligned and I might need some uca's too get the numbers perfect but it's damn close. It was almost perfect level stock about 1/2 inch taller in back. Also removed sway bar. Had the 37s off my other truck and decided to roll them over and see what it would look like. I couldn't imagine how much cutting and lift it would take to get them to fit

Next on the to do list, rebuild rear diff so i can have 4.56's out back to match the front. Also I think my fan clutch is about to shit the bed. Ac only works when I'm moving. Also looking at tires, I've narrowed it down to km3, ko2 and duratrac. I'm not sure if I should get spacers for the wheels I have or just find some wheels I'm planning on running 285's

Trying to round up the last few parts so I can do the manual trans swap. Its amazing how many parts that won't work, do your homework kids. So I thought the shifter boot and bezel from my 95 would fit since it's gray interior, nope. Basically the only parts I've been able to use is the front diff, manual hubs and CVS and clutch pedal. So right now I need clutch , flywheel, rear driveshaft( i might just chop mine down to size), shifter bezel and boot, front driveshaft( I've read they are all the same but not 100% sure) i have one from my 95 but it's a 3rz. It has a m59 trans but t case is the same j shift. The ECM is by far the hardest part to find. I've only seen 1 on Ebay for 700 bucks, no thanks. I got the trans, bell housing and t case put together today finally

I would short there rear shaft.
And ether front shaft should work.
T100 shaft would prob need shortened as well.

I need to crawl my happy ass under there and do some measuring.
On a side note I installed one of the T100 sport seats. I had to cut the 2 seat mounts near the tunnel from the Tacoma off, and weld them in place of the T100 mounts. They fit like a champ, I did have to drill and swap the seat buckle bolt and latch.
