Looking for ideas for aftermarket seat heater buttons in my 3rd gen! I’m about to order Clazzio seat covers and seat heaters and am unsure of where I want to put the switches. I wanted to use the OEM locations, but I only have one free blank switch. My current idea is to get a 2 in 1 switch and just mount it in the center console.

    Set ups and pictures appreciated!

Caveat: I searched the forums, if I missed a correlating post, please link me

I'm in the process of putting seat heaters in '18 Sport 4x4 as well. After researching some. I went with this setup as I do have 2 open slots.
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MEE6KLX/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Being you stated you only 1 open slot. You can use seat heaters that both heaters combined into 1 switch like these.
    https://www.amazon.com/Water-Carbon...pID=51OkqhJDoqL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

There are other options like switch adding panels to add more switches under the console and to left of steering wheel.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/custom-switch-panels.533747/

    Overhead console panels.

@JaCado Thanks for the shout out

They are great and super easy to install. If you have any questions, I’m here to help but when you receive them, they have instructions as well as labels on each wire on where they need to be connected. I also applied them to the bottom of my clazzio seats in case I ever want to remove my clazzio seat covers or Seat Heaters, my OEM upholstered seat covers will look untouched. You also do not have to remove the upholstery that is currently there. Just apply it to the seat covers and install the seat covers over the top. Done.

I’m assuming that since you have the Offroad like me, you only have the three switches in your lower center panel or did you get it with the blinspots and all the extra goodies. If you only have the three switches, you can also purchase the replacement piece for the five switches or you can purchase @mesojdm custom switches for that location where you can add up to like 8-10 switches like @VicNic3 stated. I replaced mine with the OEM 5 Switch location but this was prior to Me-So coming out with his switch panels.

I’d be interested in seeing under the clazzio cover to see if the adheasive or the heat did anything to the oem upholstery, if you ever take them off def post a pic. Smart idea to apply it directly to the cover though. Especially if someone is leasing the vehicle. I was wondering how people were installing these with the leather seat covers, bc I put heated seats in my old car but i actually took the oem upholstery up added the heating unit to foam of the seat then wired the seat up.

My truck is currently getting ceramic coated so when I get it back I can take the bottom off of one of the seats and take a pic for you

I installed the Clazzios too with a kit off ebay, worked perfect and I too attached them to the bottom of the covers. Don't worry about it, the seats will be fine. I was worried too but not too concerned after talking to my friend who works for a local shop that is a famous TV car show. I thought you get heated seats with the tech package.

So did you set your seat heaters up so you can control the backs and the bottom independently?

I didn't. I think you would need two switches and it would probably require some kind of jumper in the circuit. Way above my electrical capabilities

So is that a single dial? I thought it might have been a double. I ordered two of the double switches, and I'm going to"try" and wire them up as 4 separate systems...

Yeah each seat has a single dial.

Let us know how that project goes. It sounds pretty cool. There have been a bunch of times I could have used some heat on my back but not on my butt.

So how hard was it to mount the switches where you did? My switches came in and they are too big for the lower switch panel so they may have to go where yours are.

The hardest part was just getting them both lined up to be in the same spot. Other than that it was real easy. Just used a razor knife with a brand new blade and scored it repeatedly until it went through. Behind there is open space.
