I want to extend my differential breathers. Does the front diff have the same breather as the rear. I seen something in the front that looked like a breather that was already semi extended. But the rear has that one just on top. So I’m like :annoyed:

I'm pretty sure most people don't bother extending the front because it's already pretty high up as it is. The rear needs to be extended though if you frequently submerge the rear axle.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Front one should already be hanging out kinda far down on the drivers fender metal. You can extend it with a longer piece of hose if you want though. The rear one I just bought an 1/8NPT brass barb and made it fit the 1/8BSP hole in the diff (the brass is soft and will reshape nicely) and ran a line up to my fuel door with a little lawn mower fuel filter and a turndown.

Ahh okay. I bought the arb diff breather kit a while back. But I didn’t know that the front and back diff breathers were different

I noticed my left tail light had dirt inside & I could see black, reflective coating was wearing away. Opened it up & it was pretty dirty. Washed out the dirt but still some of the reflective coating was gone. Looks like it's been like that for a while.

Turns out the plastic washers on the screws were disintegrated & caused the loose sealing. Well Toyota doesn't sell the housing seperately & none of my local junkyards had a good one or would sell me just the housing. I have 2 sets of aftermarket housings laying around but for some reason they cause different weird issues when either one or both are plugged in. Didn't feel like troubleshooting to rewire them.

Used some "chrome" rattle can & lightly dusted the area. Would've came out better if I layed a nice final wet coat but I didn't want to cover any of the stock reflective coating as much as possible. Plus you can't mask off with tape on the reflective coating, tape will peel the coating off. Decent results to hold me over until I find a stock replacement housing someday.

Also put on some new nylon washers & will order new lens gaskets tomorrow. I flipped my gaskets in the meantime. So if you haven't already, check the plastic washers on your screws & your lens gaskets.

Indeed I did. I just haven’t taken off the good ones off the 5-lug yet.

Looks like the unibody where the taillights mount to were destroyed in the rollover. There’s about 100 spotwelds holding that piece of the bed in that I don’t want to drill out, so I might have to cut and weld that section.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    Friday - Mod day 1
Mounted new ToyTec 620# coils on my Bilsteins and installed them on my truck.

    Saturday - Mod day 2
Lifted a 3rd gen with Bilstein adjust and AAL
Lifted another 3rd gen with Bilsteins, TC UCAs and Dakars in the rear.
Lifted a 2nd gen with Dakar (Heavys) and Camberg UCAs

Sunday - Mod day 3... lol

Diff oil change and Diff breather re-locate.

Rear diff breather run up to high point in engine compartment. Will splice into the hose to add the front diff breather (when I actually have a front diff...lol)

Not thinking to change your plan, but do you have a spot weld removal bit?

Those are 881s? No way...something isn't right. 881s shouldn't give more than 2", that looks higher than 3"

Like half inch spacer? That’s giving you like a 1” lift right there
