I would take the money from the TRD skid plate and put it towards a winch. The factory skid plate works just as well and you just need to remove 4 bolts to get it off.

Wont I need a new bumper to install the winch? If the TRD skid plate isnt much of an upgrade I'll definitely skip it. They're charging me $630 for it.

I don't know all the winch options. But, personally, I would hate to be where you are going and get stuck without some sort of winch - especially at night. The TRD skid plate is made of aluminum. It's thicker but it is certainly no stronger than the steel factory unit.

You can get a stronger aftermarket steel skid with access panel for around 250 to 450 USD. I know RCI and Mobtown make them for sure. Depending on your time schedule and how much they charge for shipping this may or may not be beneficial for you. Also there may be a Canadian fabricator closer to you. I would advise against the factory all weather mats as well. They came with my truck and are decent but both Weather Tech or Husky will provide better coverage. I swapped mine out for Husky's and have been pleased.
