I know I’m not the only one who’s thinking this, why the switch from 3rd gen back to 2nd gen? On my 4th tacoma myself! Nice looking truck man!

I get asked why i went from the 3rd gen to the 2nd gen often. The reason is I bought the 3rd gen brand new mid year of 2016. For those who know about the TSB for the transmission mine was affected. horrible shift points at interstate speed, shift pause when going from reverse to drive when its cold, the whole 9. went to 3 different dealerships trying to get it taken care of. All 3 told me the same thing..."Your VIN is not listed as being affected by it. Come back in 6 months to see if your VIN appears on the updated list....". The transmission got so bad i thought the damn thing was gonna fall out every time it down shifted to go up a hill. (should have gotten a 6-speed). Then when it would crest the hill it would slam back into high gear. got tired of getting the run around from the dealership and the transmission making weird noises so i got rid of it. got nothing against the 3rd gens. i think i just got a defective one. honestly will probably get another 3rd gen in future years to come.

i went back to driving my F150 as my daily after that. back in June found this 2nd gen for sale. 1 owner, still under factory warranty cause the mileage was so low, TRD off road package, and best of all never been off road and completely un-modded. even had every receipt from all the oil changes in the glove box.

    And here i am

I suspected as much. If this TSB update doesn't fix mine, back to the dealership it goes and I will find a 2015 myself.
