Okay peeps of the 2wd world. Looking to get a powertrax lunchbox locker. No slip or lockright? Anyone have one and can give me some more views on them. Know a couple guys with them but it never hurts to hear from more people.

I have a 5 speed. I plan on putting 5.29 in as soon as I can quit having wrecks and things breaking. Between my daily and this thing I’ve spent 6,000 dollars in the last month on repairs

Yeah id go with 5.29s if i was to do it over again. I have 4.88s and 295s and my truck is still a dog. I have a shit ton of added weight though.

What kinda mileage you getting with the 35s and stock gears? Whenever i swapped out my tires with 295s i couldnt even use 5th gear anymore and was getting 13mpg hwy

I have no idea what the mileage is, I know it sucks because it seems like I put fuel in it every time I drive it. I don’t daily it (I daily a Prius, which I love). Anytime I’m driving the truck, it’s pedal to the metal either trying to drive over or through things that shouldn’t be driven over or through. Full send 24/7

Sounds like a good philosophy to me! Are there any good places down near you to do some high speed stuff? I prefer that over slow crawling, lots more fun

What locker have any of y'all installed in your PreRunner? I don't think I wanna go with a lunchbox locker.

Going camping with the wife in a couple weeks. Camp ground is super secluded and has sandy parts to it. I've got a 2014 Sport. Any need to knows for the sand so I don't look like a jackass? Was thinking about just getting a recovery board off Amazon for $80, I don't see why that wouldn't get me out of any sand situation I find myself in. Also auto LSD on or off in the sand? Thanks!

Airing down works wonders in the sand, so maybe invest in an viar 88p so you can air back up once you get back on pavement. I aired down to about 15psi front and back went i went to the beach last time. Truck never got stuck and i used the auto LSD the whole time

Ok so I've had my 06 dcsb prerunner for about a month and I'm loving it... except the tires that are on it. It has 285/65/18s toyo open country ats. They have a bit of dry rot (truck came from arizona) and the fronts ride to close for comfort to the cst spindles. I want to go to a 16 or 17 inch wheel and a skinnier tire. If I go 16 I would get a set of 255/85s but what size can I get in a 17 that is skinny and still a 32 or 33 inch tire? Final option would be to keep the 18s and go with a 255/70. But I'm just not in love with these wheels.
