If you're looking for other recommendations, we have some great LED lights that are perfect for rock lights. They're the Cyclone LED lights and we have a bunch of forum members using them many applications, including rock lights. You can buy the lights individually and wire yourself with your own wires and switches and fuses etc, or you can pick up our wiring harness for them to make it even easier.

Each one of these 5W lights throws out 516 lumens. They are offered in clear white, diffused white, amber, blue, red, and green. They are also IP 68 rated in a waterproof die-cast aluminum housing making them great for under the vehicle so there aren't worries of the elements getting to them while wheeling. You can mount them with bolts/nuts with the center hole mount, or with some straps, or even magnet if you wanted to try those out.

Thank you for being the first to respond. I will take a look at your product. I am definitely not settled on any one product yet.

I have been researching rock lights for a bit now as well.

Advantages of various rocks lights from what I found thus far has been:
    - Right size retro fitting a pair of 1960's vintage military lights (Pic Attached)
    - Come in both Red and White for the overland kitchen
    - Help see when backing up with less glare
    - Provide under and side lighting

    * Lux seems to have a unique foot print and could be decent, I just have yet to use or install these on ony ones truck. Magnets can be more than strong enough especially neodymium.
    * KC Cyclones have a unique foot print as well and the center bolt concept I could see applicable for a number of uses. I reached out to KC asking a few technical questions with out reply.
    * Rigid and Baja Design Rock Lights $$$
    * Amazon Rock lights average about $10 per and seem to be reasonable performance wise

Unknown the final product I will end up going with currently, but want something that is going to perform.

Aside from attachment point, one of my other concerns is weatherproofing/waterproofing. I plan on modding my truck to allow decent fording capabilities (diff breathers and such). I want to make sure the kit I buy or piece together will handle submersion well.

I am very interested to see what you go with. Please keep me updated!

the magnet idea is kinda neat, but no idea how well they hold up. The KC lights are also super slick with the single bolt setup, this makes mounting super easy.

Just to throw another in the ring.
Baja Designs also makes some killer rock lights.
Made in the USA, Alu housing, waterproof.
Comes in 5 different colors also.

For weatherproofing/waterproofing I'd first start with the IP ratings (67/68/69).
LUX - states they are IP68 rated
    KC - IP68
Baja Design - Not defined on the rock light product line. Other BD lights are IP69

If you are playing in the water then the light will not be submerged for very long or very deep. Anything over 1 meter could be over kill for the application. Then again I build for Mil-Spec most of the time mitigating potential of any issues.

I just got my LUX lights a couple weeks ago since I I haven't had my truck as much the last couple weeks due to my high clearance bumper being made. I plan to install my rock lights here soon. maybe this weekend or next. currently sitting in my garage there are a couple Tacoma members here in Colorado running them. very compact bought them after seeing other members Rigs and how they mounted them.

Can you post photos and a review when you get done installing them please? Also, let me know how the magnets hold up mounting wise.

Do not purchase from LUX Lighting Systems. Their customer service is horrible. I was sent the wrong products and have had zero response from the company to try and make this right despite several attempts via email and phone to reach anyone. For the cost of their products I expected better. Spend your money elsewhere. Horrible customer service.
