Don't mean to sound like a broken record. However I'm ultra interested in the rack setup. I destroyed mine on Rubicon in late May early June. Drove the 5k miles home with the steering wheel upsidedown lol cutting welding all good by me. If it's holding up to 40s I'm super interested plus those knuckles look bad ass

    Rack x8 lol

Hey guys! @snowsk8air2 thank you for the notification. While the MarRack is not ready yet, the good news is that I have two strong reasons to get these things finished sooner than planned including one which is the MarRack will be put to the ultimate hell in not one but two back-to-back race days for the upcoming King Of The Hammers, Feb 2019.

For time ETA, I expect to have the full near-production ready setup on my Tacoma before September (for use at our Round Up Rubicon event) and on a 4th gen KOH race-built V8 4Runner as early as late October.

If you guys can just give us a little bit more time for testing :D At Moab in May I found the first/next weaklink, which I revised and improved as MarRack v1.1, and then at the Rubicon three weeks ago I found the second/next weaklink which was also improved as MarRack v1.2 (both issues were bushing related; v1.2 is on the truck now and being tested another 2,000 mile road trip and light wheeling currently in Colorado (see my FJ Summit Live! trip report thread here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/fj-summit-xii-live-2018.559164/)). I think you'll be impressed on how the first weaklink was discovered :D

Currently these long highway hauls and big wheeling events have been priceless for data collecting so we can roll all improvements into the final kit.

Thank you for the interest everyone and I'll see if I can get this thread updated in a week or two!

    Regards,
    BigMike

@BigMike would the control pack on the Warn Zeon have to be relocated?

Is there anyway you can set up a location to run OEM fogs?

I'm not seeing a clear shot of a crack. You're using a dye penetration test but I don't see any cleaner used before applying the dye nor after using the developer. Also, to get proper results you have to remove all paint surrounding the area and it doesnt look like you did that very well. Not to slam your process but the dye penetration testing is very finicky if not done properly. Can you post better pics of the crack?

You can barely see the where the dye has been pulled out of the center of the weld where the crack is.

But yeah, he probably should have wire wheeled and cleaned before he sprayed the penetrant.:p

Yea but because it looks like a small pool that means it wasn't cleaned properly after the developer was applied. It should look like a red hairline crack, not a smudge of red dye.

I'm not saying it's not cracked, just be careful because the evidence is misleading if the test isn't done right. Prepping the material for the test is important too. All the paint around the suspect area needs to be removed and it looks like the test was done over the paint in one picture.
