I had an incident wherein one corner of my rack came loose and ended up causing a series of scratches along the roof of my snugtop. The scratches go all the way through the paint, but don't appear to have affected the fiberglass.

The scratches are not visible unless you're standing on the tailgait so i'm more worried about durability than aesthetics, although i do plan to sell this top in the next 2 months (GFC is coming).

I'm assuming the repair is something along the lines of mask it, sand it, paint it. Any tips on what kind of paint i should use?

    Thanks in advance!

How deep are they? If it's just paint or minor scratches, prep it like you would anything fiberglass (cleaning up edges and any possible loose/chipped paint and make sure you clean any dust really well) then use an appropriate primer and color matched touch up paint. If it's deeper scratches then check some of the marine places for gel-coat repair kits. They make color matching one for popular marine colors but you might be able to find something close. There are videos on-line to show you how to use them.

I got around to doing this yesterday. First step was to order a can of color matched touch up paint and a can of clear coat.

The end result looks fine. I’m sure with more sanding care I could have made the repair totally unnoticeable, but since this is on top of the canopy and out of sight I’m happy with the fix.
