Can you hook up your cable and run the file to try out? If it doesn't apply to your ECU it won't run so no harm to your truck.

Although I definitely could do it, I'm not going to install this TSB from Toyota, but I am super excited that all M/T owners finally get a fix for this shit. I'd rather stay on 1.04A 91 until Mat incorporates the changes into the next version of the M/T tune.

Edit: NVM, I applied the Toyota update and it works great.

I'm sure the M/T specific TSB paperwork will clarify what is happening with 04B10 and 04B11 ECUs.

How do you find the ECU number?

If you have an OBD scanner/software you can read it with that. Last part of the calibration ID will be ****04B1000, ****04B1100, or ****04B1200.

18's are ****04A7000 or some shit.

You have a '17 so you're NOT going to be 04B10.

Do all new trucks get the latest TSBs installed before delivery? My Sport DCSB 6MT is on order and should be delivered sometime mid next month (hopefully). Wondering if I would have this out of the gate or do they hold it back and only give it to people who complain, even on new vehicles?

    Mostly stuff I built.

Good deal I am not going to go to the hassle of trying to get the dealership to flash my truck and then having to live with it until 1.05 comes out.

    Edit:
My Ecu is 04b11 anyway so no love from Toyota to begin with.

No, TSBs are engineering advisories and aren't things that are necessarily required on all trucks. They're just common problems that have been identified by Toyota engineers that have an associated fix.

If you aren't getting the truck until next month, it's not built yet and Toyota will likely ship it with the most up-to-date software.

I believe you are correct on that sir, now that I think about it. IIRC the switch from 04B10 to 04B11 happened in the spring of 2016..

Anyway, never hurts to be sure. I don't get a warm and fuzzy from grabbing a file and just trying to blast it into my ECM without knowing the whole story. There were significant differences between 04B10 and 04B11/12, ask me how I know lol.

Anyway, patience... all will be revealed in short order. People can then go to the dealer with the PDF in hand and have this done.

The details will be good. I have about 900mi until the next service. I can easily hold out until then.

Mine was a later 2017 build (May).

Those significant differences in the 04B10 tune were not cool. I can't even say that you were lucky to have your truck for a couple year more than me. You certainly showed patience and a lot of effort to get what you needed.

So what I am reading is that there is no new fix, only that manuals might be covered under TSB-0058-18.

That TSB clearly says automatics only. No way is my dealer going to reflash my truck after reading that TSB.

If your running ov tunes 87 octane there is no difference in power from stock. I drove the truck in from work and was very surprised on how smooth the truck now drives. No change in performance.

Damn. Was hoping the PDF would be posted by the time I got to the end of the thread. Jury's still out. This could mean a trip to the dealership which would suck or it could mean I'm ready to purchase the 1.05 93 ovtune.

also gonna wait for Mat to incorporate into his tune. not going to the dealer for this as long as Mat is planning on a release before too long.

    so, @OVTune ...
